San Francisco Muni
Just in time for the San Francisco Giants baseball season opener, NextBus was asked to make real-time arrival information available on the Internet and at major stations along the entire J, K, L, M, and N lines. NextBus currently has a contract for expanding the service to every line in the entire city.
AC Transit-Alameda County
AC Transit is the third-largest bus-only transit system in California, serving over 400 square miles of the East Bay. For over forty years, AC Transit has been dedicated to providing quality mass transit. Every weekday, over 230,000 people ride their fleet of nearly 800 buses.
AC transit is bringing real-time transit information to the heavily used corridor selected for their sleek rapid “Rapid Bus” service. NextBus tracks both the rapid 72R, and the regular 72 buses, so passengers can make an informed choice. NextBus Rugged Transit Displays are installed at most of the Rapid Bus shelters, or in nearby shop windows.
University of South Carolina
USC shuttles run on a continous loop, so bus schedules are not an option. But now with NextBus “You no longer have to wonder how long you are going to have to wait.”
Fairfax CUE
The City of Fairfax, Virginia was the first city on the east coast to implement the NextBus system on their entire fleet of vehicles. CUE Bus Service provides low cost transit service within the city and to the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail station and George Mason University. Fairfax has shown a great commitment to the environment and encouraging use of transit. Not only has the city chosen to provide arrival information to their passengers, but the City of Fairfax helps alleviate ozone pollution and its harmful effects by offering free rides on unhealthy air quality days.
METRO Transit-Oklahoma City
METRO Transit is a division of the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority (COTPA). COTPA, a public trust administered by the City of Oklahoma City, is responsible for providing downtown parking alternatives and safe, efficient and convenient public transportation to the citizens of the greater Oklahoma City metropolitan area. NextBus information will be available for five routes on the city’s downtown trolley system.
Vail Transit
Over 1.2 million passengers a year use Vail’s public transportation system. NextBus tracking units have been added to Vail’s busiest transit route, which connects visitors to three major ski portals and the resort’s pedestrian-only activity centers at Vail Village, Lionshead and Golden Peak. NextBus also tracks the snowcat that shuttles exclusive winter guests to the remote Game Creek Resturant. Vail, located 100 miles west of Denver, is the largest and most popular ski resort in North America. Vail Transit the largest fare-free transit system in the country.
DART First State
Popular beach town Rehoboth Beach, Delaware had a parking problem. With the installation of the NextBus system on their park-and ride Beach Bus, that problem has been solved. Electronic-signs located at the Rehoboth Park-n-Ride, the Rehoboth Boardwalk, and the Ruddertowne complex in Dewey Beach provide scrolling text messages and bus arrival times. Beach-goers now know exactly when their ride will be there, down to the minute.
